The new Brooks Drive Convertible sports bra is not a welcome
change. I’ve been wearing Brooks Juno and Rebound Racer for years and I am
quite sad about the changes to the Brooks sports bra line after trying
the Drive Convertible. Let’s start with the good, the straps are
comfortable in the scoopback position, the fabric is more breathable and
moisture wicking than the Rebound Racer, and the band doesn’t ride up. Now
onto the bad. I’m surprised to admit this, but I really like the velcro
adjustable straps of the Juno and Rebound Racer, they make it easy to
adjust to just the right strap length. With the Drive Convertible you have
to take it on and off to get the right length. I also found the straps to
be incredibly uncomfortable when put into the racerback configuration – a
lot of pinching since the straps wouldn’t lay flat. Lastly, and most
importantly, this is not a high impact bra or a good replacement for the
Rebound Racer. In order to get the bra tight enough to stand a 30 minute
cycle class I had to cinch the straps down so tight my shoulders and chest
hurt, and even then the bra wasn’t supportive or motion limiting, just
incredibly tight. I cannot see myself ever using this bra for running or
cycling, just weekend errands or taking the dog for a walk. This bra was
tried in a 32D.

-2 for comfort, the circles in the back tend to dig in.
-4 for style, I like the material and the fit was good and appealing
– In comparison to my other Brooks Bras, this would definitely not be my go to. I tried to use it as a racer back and it was extremely hard to latch and uncomfortable. It also is not as supportive as other Brooks bras I have used. This would be a bra for walking or yoga but not running distance.

I have a large bust (36DD) and am quite active so finding a good supportive
bra is a must – if it is cute that is a bonus. This bra is definitely cute,
I love the mesh detail on the top of the bra – it is always nice to put on
something that is pretty. I also love the adjustable straps for either a
racer back or standard over the shoulder. This works great for the
different workout tops I wear. Of note, this bra has no wires, which I
like, but can give the uniboob look. Although I generally love this brand
and have found it to be very supportive during high impact activities, I
was a bit disappointed in this one. For high impact activities, like
running and jumping, this bra does not provide a ton of support for the
busty ladies. It does what it needs to do when walking or hiking, also for
running errands. So overall, it is a cute bra and can work for low-impact
activities but I would leave this one in the drawer if you are planning on
doing some high impact work.

Though the fabric is great it is one of the most uncomfortable, oddly sized bras. If you want to wear this as a running or other high-intensity workout bra and are in a larger cup size DON’T do it. This is fine for low intensity but nothing else.

This is excellent support! Love the grey color. I have only 4 stars because it started to rub into my skin under my boob because it was so tight. I ordered my correct size so I think just because it really pulls you in it can be too tight.
