I love this shoe so much! It’s light and springy with lots of energy return! It’s truly neutral and just lets you enjoy your run! I love how this shoe just disappears into the background while running – no fuss, just comfort the whole way through! I’m going to get another pair soon just so I don’t have to be without them!

I love these running shoes! Light weight and super comfortable. Please make them in more colors!!!
SherryC –
Lightweight good running shoe but I still prefer the ghost. After a run in Hyperion my ankles were sore as if support was not adequate.

It’s so lightweight yet sturdy! I bought it for tempo runs but am finding I like wearing it to kick around in. The upper is mesh so you can faintly see what color socks you are wearing which is fun. This shoe is very comfortable.

My foot had not adjusted well with the newest ghost revision. I tried the launch and revel and they were just okay. So after the reviews I thought I would try these. I put it on thinking no way it felt stiff and could feel it touching my arch. I figured keep an open mind. I have never loved a shoe and BOOM I fell in love instantly. Where have these babies been all my life. Very lightweight, larger toe box and material breathed well. I have ran in them for two weeks and feel like I am floating. Very springy. I feel the ground more than a Ghost but less than the revel. My long runs I felt I could just keep going, legs never felt tired. BEST of all, first time I have had painless runs since October. I have ran in the rain with no footing issues. My pace is faster in these. Is it do to the fact they are lighter or no longer have the heal pain the I was getting from the other models? I do not know but highly recommend trying these out. I where a 9 in Ghost and order a 9 in these. My street shoe is a 8.5.

I’ve been starting to add more speed work into my training in an attempt to get faster and I’m not lying when I say that the first time I wore them my pace dropped almost a full minute. I glide into the next step so easily and comfortably, these are now my go to shoes for speed.

I was excited to try these shoes. They are extremely light weight, however, they actually made me run more flat footed and caused pain in my ankles and knees. I typically land on my midfoot. They are also too wide allowing my feet to move around too much. I could not run beyond 4 miles without discomfort.
Disappointing. I have been running for 30 years and this is the first time I felt the need to write a review about a shoe. Sorry Brooks! This one needs a few modifications.

I am really loving this shoe! I’ve been running in the Ghost 12 for over a year now but have been feeling like they were too “heavy” for tempo and speed runs. As I’ve consistently been building in strength and distance, I wanted something that felt “quicker”. After a few unsuccessful attempts at trying out other brands, I went with the hyperion and so far I’m very pleased. They feel very light, there is great support through the midsole without feeling too “squishy”. The adjustment from 12mm drop to 8mm drop was pretty smooth. The first few runs my calves were more sore that usual, but I adjusted very quickly. So far I have 40 miles on them and longest run to date has been 9 miles. I actually prefer them to my ghost 12’s and have been using for long runs as well!

Great support and all but wished for more cushioning wanted that walking cloud feeling. Ah well you live and you learn

I had been running in Ghost, then upleveled to Glycerin, which are amazing and cushiony, and now after trying Hyperion Tempo, I’ve found my new favorite. I replaced the footbed with athletic arch support insoles because I have extra high arches. To accommodate the insoles, I sized up 1/2 size. I do believe I run faster in these shoes – something about the positioning makes running feel a bit like gliding.

Because I supinate (my outer heel touches first when I walk) I have a tough time finding any shoes that work for me. I am very active but honestly hate the look of running shoes but now that I am aging I am forced to move away from my slip on vans and get into a shoe that supports my feet. I tried on every single brand and not one shoe fit like this shoe. I did not want to spend over $100 on a shoe I was just going to walk in (because I don’t run) but when I put this shoe on it fit like a glove and I just said yes. After wearing the shoe for a few months I purchased the other color too. If you supinate, you will want to take a look at this shoe…I wear it everywhere now, luckily sporty comfort is in now! I am a size 9 and I bought a size 9 1/2 fyi. Good luck and hope this helped!

The 4 MM drop takes some getting used to after coming off of the Ghost.
Overall, I really like them. Super light with enough cushion. The shoe laces are too long.

I’m a loyal Brooks wearer for 12-15 years and I’ve always worn Adrenaline GTS and recently triend the Hyperion Elite 2. I was wearing the Hyperion Elite 2 too often; I bought these to train to give my Hyperion Elite a break…they were not a comprable fit/feel. The tongue won’t stay straight, even with the marathon loops. I would prefer to run in an Adrenaline GTS as an alternate or splurge for another pair of Hyperion Elite 2.

Very light, very comfortable, fits true to size. I’ve always bought Ghosts, this is my first time buying something other than Ghosts, and I love them!

Love these shoes! I’m an ulta runner that spends my weekday training runs on the road predominantly. My old go to’s of a different brand were discontinued and was thrust into the dreaded position of finding something else.
After a few weeks of almost daily running in them, I can say I absolutely love them!! They are actually better than my old shoes. Light, responsive, comfortable but not so much that you don’t have good ground feel. No hot spots or odd rubbing. Great shoe!!
I’m a forefoot runner with neutral feet and high arches. Size feels true.

I’m loving these shoes. I typically run in Brooks Launch (another neutral and speed shoe) and love them. I decided to give these a try after reading reviews and watching the videos about what all they put in to this shoe. The hyperion tempo is light as a feather and runs like a dream. I always do a few short runs (less than 3 miles) to break in a new pair of shoes and I honestly feel I could have set off on a 10k day one in these. My feet felt refreshed and not constrained (for example, the levitate’s bottom is too hard for me, I like my foot to feel flexible and close to the ground)

I really loved these shoes – at first. When I walked on dry pavement they were awesome! But then, it rained… oh my!!! I was sliding! It felt like I was ice skating. Quite terrifying. Tried walking again, on a different day – it was just a little wet outside on the streets and sidewalks. Same thing – very slippery! The soles of these shoes are relatively flat and have very little grip; so now these have become my “inside house shoes.” Sigh. However, even in the house, I will have to take them off when I mop the floor – if these shoes hit any moisture, I’m afraid of falling! I have other Brooks shoes and did not experience this, but I will not purchase the Hyperion Tempo, ever again.

Love these sneakers as they are super light, super cute and offer good cushioning and support and about as good as sneakers can get . I am athletic but have a connective disorder and its difficult to find a comfortable show that stays comfortable when put to these test!

Shoes were perfect fit right out of the box. I have wide feet and these shoes do not make my feet look wide. I have only worn them for running errands and chasing a one and three year old around. I am looking forward to using them on an actual run soon.
DeannaD –
I love this shoe! Light and yet cushioned for comfort. The only negative thing I would say, is that they seem a little narrow and tight around my toes.

I got fitted for my first pair of Hyperion Tempo in January at the local Fleet Feet store. I had been running in the Ghost 13 and prior to that Levitate 3. What I immediately loved about the Hyperion Tempo was the weight and the almost glove like fit on my foot. I was skeptical about the foam sole that in my opinion looked like it wouldn’t hold up. I went ahead and purchased the pair and after reaching 500 miles decided to retire the first pair and replaced it with the sharp looking black/red/blue design. I have run distances up to 20 miles in the Hyperion Tempo and it has worked well for me. I know some fellow runners who only use it for shorter distances as they like a little more cushion for their long runs. I love the convenience of buying online, but when it comes to running shoes, I prefer to get fitted for shoes I am not familiar with. Just got a new 5K PR this weekend and think the shoe played a role in it.

I’m on my third pair of Hyperions and there’s a reason why. They are super lightweight for speed training but still supportive enough for longer runs. They have pretty good traction on the bottom for running on slightly wet surfaces. They quickly mold to my feet. The first week running on every new pair of shoes takes some adjustment. They are super cushioning on the inside but still make your foot supported. I feel like I’m running barefoot with these because of the dynamic look.

the shoes fit and feel wonderful…but, when I try to “exercise walk” in them, they “strike” hard. I am glad for the opportunity to “try them out”.

Absolutely LOVE these shoes for being on my feet all day in the hospital. LIGHTEST shoe I’ve ever worn (feels like air) and subtle, springy cushion. The black with pop of hot pink color withstands dirt and brings some “fun” to the monotony of basic colors. I may just get another pair for when I wear these out.

Love these shoes — I forget they’re on my feet honestly and I get the ideal amount of spring (or whatever you might call it — “snap,” energy return, bounce) on turnover. I think these are ideal for racing up to a half marathon or training for long slow runs.
Word of warning: I would not advise wearing them to race a full marathon. I ran in them last year for the NYC Marathon because I found my Ghost 13s too stiff…but the Hyperion Tempos were not the solution because as pliable as they are, the cushioning was not enough to hold up to a full marathon. I found myself feeling the lack of cushion after mile 20. For reference, I’ve run a lot of marathons in other shoes (Ghost 11s, Adidas supernovas, Asics Cumulus etc) and this was the first time I’d felt like I had insufficient shoe cushioning when I needed it. That said, I don’t think that Brooks markets these as marathon shoes so I can’t blame them.
