Great fit. 5’5” 120 lbs wear a small. They were a great length without being too long, super lightweight, and the pocket for keys is a nice touch.

The difference in how the legs are cut out compared to the previous generation is disappointing – this style is cut tighter to the leg. it doesn’t ride up as much but it is too tight and the air flow is less. the vents along the waistband do absolutely nothing. I dont understand their placement – unless you have a flat butt there is just no airflow there. 5” not having pockets is also annoying.
Brooks advertises the 5” and 3” as an option for those not happy with the tighter fit of the 7”. Sorry to report that these are not any looser compared to the 7”s. will keep the one pair of 7”s I got as a last resort with pockets while i try other brands again.
these might work if you have a mildly curving rear and minimal thighs but I have linebacker thighs and a butt.

Best running shorts I’ve ever had. I can’t compare to previous versions, because they’re the first Brooks I’ve bought. In the past I’ve tried every brand from Nike to Underarmour, and rarely found anything comfortable. For one thing, I hate the low-rise shorts. They make my stomach hang over. These have a nice natural waist with a flat panel, so nothing binds or digs in or makes rolls. Very light and comfortable all around. They didn’t ride up at all, although that’s not a problem I have with most shorts anyway. I got 5″ because I’m short, so they prevent chafing, but if I were taller I’d get the 7 inch. For reference, I got mediums and I’m 5’2″, 130lbs, hourglass figure, usually size 6 or 8.

I am 5’9″, 155 lbs with 40″ hips and a 30″ waist. I ordered the large and the medium to try on and I returned the medium. The medium was a perfect but snug fit and the large is a bit looser. I’ve taken these shorts out for a 13-mile run and they were incredibly comfortable. I barely knew they were on and my thighs did not eat them. I also like to support brands that are using recycled material in their products.

I like how these shorts look and feel for daily walking. Super light weight, comfortable and nice looking. Then I went to go for a walk and realized there are no pockets. Can’t do without pockets. I like the Chaser 2-in-1 for all that, plus pockets.

I wanted to love these. The fit and fabric was great, however the back “vents” were just weird. They wouldn’t lay flat, causing unnecessary bumps on my back side.

They were cute but not for running. I have thick thighs and a big booty and they rode up just when I walked. Maybe a longer length would work but sadly I returned

These are my go-to running shorts. They are totally comfortable and never ride up. I like the higher waist because it doesn’t cause rolls and is more flattering. No zippered pocket, sadly, but there is a kind of flap pocket for keys. I’m on the short side, and these are the perfect length, although I also wear the 7″ and love those too.
